Christophe Lemaître creates L'Atelier in 2009 with his partner, Aurélien Bir. Very quickly, the workshop is recognized among the great houses of the Place Vendôme. The team provides their service department and works with an expert eye to the most delicate projects. In 2010, L'Atelier becomes the official workshop for Bulgari France. A team of four artisans is quickly formed to meet the growing needs. This team works on both the requests of jewelery houses and at all stages of the creation process for private orders.
Aurélien Bir, studied at the Ecole Jean Guéhenno, the largest French jewellery school. After graduating in 2002, he starts his career in the team of Lorenz Bäumer, head of Chanel Jewelry design studio. In 2003, he joins Eternamé, then Suzie Otero house a year later. Convinced by his great creative talent, Suzie Otero requests him the design of her collections for four years. In parallel, he works for the Atelier de Joaillerie de Paris (AJP), where he meets Christophe Lemaître, then responsible for the design in the same company. Their adventure starts in 2009, when together they create L'Atelier in Paris.
The design of a unique jewel is linked to an encounter, a sharing. It involves an exchange. The jewel will be shaped according to the wishes of the person who told me about his personal history, his desires, his passions ... Together we create the model, we proceed to the choice of stones, colors, shapes and cuts.
Each client inspires me. The jewelry will radiate her personal story, her experiences, her encounters, events in her life, her desire to pass on to future generations.
A unique jewelry is reminiscent of a happy memory ... It is the memory itself, the essence of its emotion, the obvious index of the relationship between the body adorned and the one who offered it.
" The rose is without why. It blooms because it blooms, It does not care about itself. It does not wonder if we see it." (Angelus Silesius, Book I, 289).
Flowers, butterflies, birds are words, jewels, emblems. Their language gives us without intermediary a pure, mystic, free, short-lived beauty. In the collection " Walk in the Palais Royal Gardens ", Christophe Lemaître translates this beauty in a precious substance, such as he seizes her according to his observations: a bell of lily of the valley under a shower of sun, dewdrops on a button of rose, a celestial butterfly with elegant nervures, a starling resting on a branch, a rose in corolla with petals of purple. Like the " bias of things " according to Pongee, Christophe Lemaître's language is a poetic expression taking into account the material and its movement. The work of art becomes as a natural object. The natural object becomes a unique jewel.
When Christophe Lemaître meets César, he discovers a passion for sculpture. He multiplies achievements in the fields of sports, culture and the arts. He creates, among others, the NRJ Music Awards trophy, the Ambassadors of Beauty trophy, and the Monte Carlo Championship of bowls chaired by HSH Prince Albert. In 2005, he produces five pieces of art for high-level sport events including a bronze for the Rugby World Cup. Always attracted by the world of high performance in sport, he designs the rings dedicated to the wives of the world football champion team, Les Bleus.
